The quest for Robot Brain Chips that complete more and more mental tasks is rapidly developing, but there appear to be exact Human replication limitations, because Human Creation is unique.

But not so fast.

Professor Michio Kaku revealed a dangerous concern about potential evil Robot behavior. Kaku warns that Robots first need a brain chip embedded to prevent murderers and human slaughters, a very astute caution for humanity. [by Annie  Palmer, Feb 22, 2018, Daily Mail]

From a different perspective, one scientist claimed that Robots will never have a soul and never achieve eternity, which is the meaning and purpose of life. A sports commentator said that Robots will never be able to play football out of love for the game. These are more day to day concerns for some Christians and sport enthusiasts. There are other objections by many.

To begin, there are neuroanatomical considerations that support Robot brain chip objections.

The average human Cranial Capacity, which is the measure of the volume of the interior of the cranium or skull aka brain case or brain-pan, is 1,353 cm3.

The adult human brain volume of 1260 cubic centimeters (cm3) for men and 1130 cm3 for women. There is, however, substantial variation between individuals.[1]

The next big thing in artificial intelligence is Neuromorphic computing. Recently Jan 22, 2018, two studies individually unveiled computer chips modeled after information processing in the human brain

The first, published in ‘Nature Materialsfound a perfect solution to deal with unpredictability at synapses at the gap between 2 neurons that transmit and store information.

The second, published in Science Advances’ further amped up the system’s computational power, filling synapses with nanoclusters of super-magnetic material to bolster information encoding.

“The device behaves naturally as an artificial synapse that can interact with low-energy electrical pulses. Although the demonstrated device and the circuit modeling are quite promising, considerable work remains to demonstrate a large neuromorphic architecture with complex layout and routing using this new technology.”

The results found that Brain-like hardware systems that linearly compute between 2 neurons faster and more efficiently than the human brain. Unfortunately, the Human Brain is not that 2 neuron simple and has some non-linear dynamics.

Nonlinear systems have at least one equation with a graph that isn’t a straight line, at least one of the equations has to be nonlinear. Linear equation is in the form Ax + By = C (where A, B, and C are real numbers) and some of the knowns and unknowns are directly proportional. Whereas, a nonlinear system is represented curved lines on calculus graphs. X and Y axes are nonlinear having been affected and distorted by nonlinear forces.

A Neurochip is a chip (integrated circuit/microprocessor) that is designed for the interaction with neuronal brain cells. A Neurochip is made of silicon that is doped in such a way that it contains EOSFETs (electrolyte-oxide-semiconductor FET) that can sense the electrical activity of the neurons (action potentials) in the above-standing physiological electrolyte solution.

It also contains capacitors for the electrical stimulation of the neurons. The University of CalgaryFaculty of Medicine scientists lead by Canadian scientist Naweed Syed proved it is possible to cultivate a network of brain cells that reconnect on a silicon chip, or the brain on a microchip and have developed new technology that monitors brain cell activity at a resolution never achieved before. [published online in August 2010, in the journal, Biomedical Devices.[1]]

Tuszynski concluded, “The building block of microtubules, the heterodimer of alpha and beta tubulin, has been well characterized crystallographically, has allowed us to build atomic-level models of tubulin and microtubules.

These models reveal complex

  • electrostatic properties of microtubules
  • molecular mechanics
  • structural stability
  • hydrogen-bond interactions
  • conductive properties in ionic solutions

This has significant implications for biological information processing, especially in neurons, and for intracellular electrical communication in general.

A particular effect observed in our experiments shows that microtubules function as memristors. 1. Memristors represent the fourth element of the electrical circuits complementing 2. resistors, 3. capacitors and 4. inductors.

Hallmarks of memristive behavior include pinched and frequency-dependent I-V hysteresis loops and most importantly, a functional dependence of the magnetic flux passing through an ideal memristor on its electrical charge.

Tuszynski provided both theoretical and experimental evidence that microtubules act according to the definition of a memeristor. Their biophysical properties lead to pinched hysteretic I-V dependence as well a classic dependence of magnetic flux on charge.

In his 1971 paper, Chua extrapolated a conceptual symmetry between the non-linear resistor (voltage vs. current), non-linear capacitor (voltage vs. charge) and non-linear inductor (magnetic flux linkage vs. current). He then inferred the possibility of a memristor as another fundamental non-linear circuit element linking magnetic flux and charge.

“In contrast to a linear (or non-linear) resistor the memristor has a dynamic relationship between current and voltage including a memory of past voltages or currents. “The memristor definition is based solely on the fundamental circuit variables of current and voltage and their time-integrals, just like the resistorcapacitor and inductor.

“Unlike those three elements however, which are allowed in linear time-invariant or LTI system theory, memristors of interest have a dynamic function with memory and may be described as some function of net charge.

  • which are a long way from fairly complex fabricated, synthetic brains powering artificial mechanical organisms in a virtual earthly environment,
  • will not vibrate, resonate and line-up
  • with man-made Robots, supercomputers, microtubules, memristors, finger size brain chips,
  • to name a few of the natural Human resonant alignments.

Humans will never manufacture another Human for eternity or be the winning quarterback in a Superbowl.
